Joseph (Jay) Sherwood
Senior Managing Director

Mr. Sherwood has more than 20 years of investment banking experience, primarily representing middle-market companies in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory transactions, including fairness opinions.  He has provided M&A and other financial advisory services representing more than $1.3 billion in transaction value, and has been responsible for raising more than $4.2 billion in equity and debt financing.  Prior to joining RSM EquiCo Capital Markets, Mr. Sherwood was a senior managing director with FTI Capital Advisors, a subsidiary of FTI Consulting, Inc. He previously was managing director and head of investment banking for The Seidler Companies, a leading regional investment bank based in Los Angeles. Mr. Sherwood has also held senior investment banking positions with Prudential Securities, NatWest Markets, and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Sherwood graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, where he received both a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's degree in business administration.  He continues to be a frequent guest lecturer in USC's Marshall School of Business. Mr. Sherwood holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses.
